Biography

Quite simply, Andrew Dice Clay is a rock and roll comedy legend and proud to be one of America's most outrageous, iconic comics. When he released his debut album Dice, the parental advisory label didn't pull punches. It simply read: "Warning: This album is offensive."

Despite relentless media backlash, Dice's rise to fame was nothing short of meteoric, unleashing a phenomenon dubbed "Dicemania." He sold out hundreds of arenas across the country, famously becoming the first comedian to sell out Madison Square Garden two nights in a row in 1990. He was also the only performer ever "Banned for Life from MTV"- a ban that has since been lifted.

Dice has released numerous gold and platinum-selling albums, including the Rick Rubin-produced The Day the Laughter Died (one of five Rubin-produced Dice records); best-selling DVDs (Dice Rules!); and several one-hour HBO, Pay-Per-View, and Showtime stand-up specials, including No Apologies, The Diceman Cometh, and Indestructible.

In recent years, Dice's career has experienced a resurgence kicking it off with his recurring role on the final season of Entourage (2011). He starred to great critical acclaim alongside Cate Blanchett and Alec Baldwin in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine (2013); in Martin Scorsese's Vinyl (2016); in the award-winning motion picture, A Star Is Born (2018) alongside Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga; and in Hulu's Pam & Tommy (2022) working with Australian film director Craig Gillespie. His other notable TV credits include two seasons (2016-2017) of his own Showtime series, called Dice, very loosely based on his own life.

Dice is currently touring and continuing to receive rave reviews with his stand-out live shows. Recent highlights over the past few years include a surprise set between Chrissie Hynde and Guns N' Roses at MetLife Stadium - a performance that echoed his legendary appearance with GNR and Metallica at the Rose Bowl back in '92 when he performed before the largest audience ever for a stand-up comic at that time. He's also been making triumphant returns to legendary venues such as The Wiltern in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden where he was a surprise guest at Bill Burr's sold-out show. In 2024, Dice headlined the world-famous Carnegie Hall, reaffirming that his stage presence and comedic firepower remain as potent as ever.

Continuing to influence new generations of comics, Dice was a special guest on Kill Tony at both Madison Square Garden and the H-E-B Center in Austin, earning thunderous receptions and solidifying his place as a legend embraced by today's comedy elite. The current comedy community reveres Dice not only for his trailblazing impact, but also for his unfiltered style and continued dominance on stage.

Offstage, Dice's social media "on the street" videos have elevated him to a new level of cultural relevance being hailed as a contemporary cultural phenomenon. As The New York Times noted about his TikTok videos, "there's nothing exactly like his current hypnotic feed." And from the Joe Rogan Experience "Andrew Dice Clay is doing some of the most interesting performance art and he's doing it for no audience." With a legacy built on breaking boundaries and a present-day presence that's more dynamic than ever, Andrew Dice Clay remains one of comedy's most enduring, electrifying forces.
