In 2001, Paul Almond was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada for having "demonstrated an outstanding level of talent and service to Canadians".

In 2007, the Director's Guild of Canada presented Paul Almond with their Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to Canadian film and television.
