Cas Anvar

Cas Anvar, whose career skyrocketed when the "fan favorite" series The Expanse premiered, continues a diverse trajectory most actors dream of. Following his acclaimed run on Amazon Prime's hit series in which he starred alongside Shohreh Aghdashloo, Steven Strait, Wes Chatham, Frankie Adams and Dominique Tipper, Anvar expanded into a string of notable television and film roles. He appeared opposite Viola Davis in the final season of How to Get Away with Murder in 2020, a performance that quickly established him as a contender for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series at the Emmy Awards.

Since then, Anvar has continued to showcase his versatility. On the big screen this year, he stars in Viper (2025) written and directed by Marc Furmie, opposite Peter Facinelli, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Neal McDonough, Stephen Dorff, Nathaniel Arcand and Jimmy Jean-Louis, as well as in Weight of Darkness (2025), also directed by Furmie, alongside Jaime King, Doug Jones, Angus Macfadyen, Corbin Bernsen, and Angus Benfield. He also joined Lily Singh's Doin' It (Aura Ent.), a provocative comedy premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival due in theaters across the USA on September 19th.

In just wrapped independent feature Foreign Tongue, a romantic comedy infused with magical realism which embraces the absurdity of everyday life while offering a grounded, honest portrayal of the world we all pretend to understand, Cas portrays 'Faroukh' bringing substantive strength to the Boris Mojsovski-directed 2026 release.

Audiences also know Anvar for his work in celebrated filmmaker Veena Sud's The Lie (Blumhouse) opposite Peter Sarsgaard, Mireille Enos and Joey King, and in Draupadi Unleashed (Passion River Films), a 16th century Indian period piece which previewed at Cannes. He starred in Vertical Entertainment's international spy thriller The Operative with Diane Kruger and Martin Freeman, which premiered at Berlinale '19 to strong reviews.

On television, he guest-starred in FBI: International (2021), further demonstrating his ability to move seamlessly between prestige drama, comedy, and high-stakes action and delivered a powerful performance. Other notable TV roles include Lifetime's Gwen Shamblin: Starving for Salvation (2023). has guest-starred in The Strain, NCIS: LA, Intelligence, In Plain Sight, Leverage, 24, Castle, and headlined SyFy's 2015 series Olympus. He also co-hosted PBS's 2015 Christmas Special to resounding acclaim.

The Canadian-born actor and voice-over star, a graduate of Montreal's prestigious National Theatre School (Canada's Juilliard), first came to popular attention as Kambiz Foroohar in the Cruise/Wagner film Shattered Glass, nominated for 4 Spirit Awards and a Golden Globe. His big-screen credits include Argo (SAG Award for Outstanding Performance), Source Code with Jake Gyllenhaal, The Factory with John Cusack, and Spielberg's The Terminal opposite Tom Hanks, Catherine Zeta Jones and Stanley Tucci.

An accomplished stage actor, Anvar has played countless leading roles in Shakespeare's greatest works and was the founder and producing artistic director of Montreal's Repercussion Theatre, the city's Shakespeare-in-the-Park touring company. Trilingual in English, French, and Farsi, he credits his wide-ranging creativity to his cultural and spiritual heritage. He divides his time between Toronto and Los Angeles.
