Joining ASCAP in 1928, his chief musical collaborators included Lew Pollack, Larry Shay, Jule Styne and Joe Goodwin, and his popular-song composiions also included I Had Someone Elce Before I Had You", "In the Valley of Love", "A Place Called Happiness", "Where Did You Learn to Love?", "Chidabee, Chidabee, Chidabee", "Baby Me", "Rainbow Valley", "You're One in a Million", "It's Lovin' Time", and "Why Don't We Say We're Sorry?".
