Biography

Dori Berinstein is a six-time, Tony-winning Broadway producer, an Olivier winner and an Emmy-award-winning director, producer and writer of film & TV. As a documentary filmmaker, Dori's award-winning work includes: "A Man with Sole: The Impact of Kenneth Cole", "ShowBusiness: The Road To Broadway", "Carol Channing: Larger Than Life", "Marvin Hamlisch: What He Did For Love" (Emmy Award), "The Show Must Go On" and "The Last Blintz".

Dori's Broadway Productions include: "Stereophonic"(Tony Award), "Company" (Tony Award), "Is This A Room", "Dana H", "The Prom" (Drama Desk Award), "Legally Blonde" (Olivier Award), "Virginia Woolf" (Tony Award), "Thoroughly Modern Millie" (Tony Award), "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" (Tony Award), "Flower Drum Song", "The Crucible", "Golden Child", "Big" and "Fool Moon" (Tony Award).

For Television, Dori directed and produced "Joshua Bell: Music at Home", and directed, produced and created the TV Series "Eavesdropping with Alan Cumming" and all four seasons of "The Isaac Mizrahi Show".

Dori executive produced and/or supervised over 50 feature, special f/x and/or animated productions, including Isaac Mizrahi's award-winning documentary "Unzipped", "Dirty Dancing" (both the feature film & TV series) and Jim Henson's "MuppetVision 3-D". She also produced Ryan Murphy's adaptation of her Broadway Musical The Prom for Netflix (Golden Globe Nominee). Dori has executive produced websites for Oprah and President Clinton. She spearheaded creative development and production for DreamWorks Theatricals and has worked as a Producer and/or an Executive for Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, Sony Pictures, NBC, MTV, Nickelodeon, Sesame Workshop, Oxygen Media, Vestron Pictures, and Walt Disney Imagineering.

Dori is the recipient of Broadway's Robert Whitehead Award for Outstanding Achievement in Commercial Theatre Producing and the Jacob Burns Vision Award

She is Co-Founder and CEO of The Broadway Podcast Network, the preeminent home for Broadway-related digital storytelling. (bpn.fm/). Dori serves on the Broadway League's Board of Governors, as well as the New Dramatists and Jacob Burns Board of Directors. Dori began her professional career as an Investment Banker in Mergers & Acquisitions for Morgan Stanley.
