Biography

Seymour Berns began his career in the late 1940s as a CBS page in CBS Studio City. He began directing Summer Replacement in the early 1950s and eventually landed the prime job as Jack Benny's director for a few years. He then became Red Skelton's Director and eventually producer for many years, receiving 5 Emmee nominations. Seymour was elected president of the Television Academy of Art's and Sciences, (Emmees). Many actors, including Harvey Korman credit Seymour with starting their careers. After Skelton was canceled Seymour became an independent producer of syndicated TV shows. He passed away in the 1970 leaving a wife, Ann and daughter, Tracey.
