Biography

Rossella Drudi is an Italian writer, screenwriter, producer and director born in Rome. She trained in classical studies with a specialization in pedagogy and developmental psychology. She began writing stories for horror comics at the age of 12 under the pseudonym Ghibly, using a post office box from Rome to Milan. To be considered, Drudi pretends to be male and of age. At sixteen, in the afternoon after school, she went to learn editing. At eighteen, Drudi, she worked as an adapter and dialogue writer for American and South American television series, also doing dubbing. At twenty years old she works as a script reader for an American company based in Rome. But she doesn't make judgements, she rewrites the lame scripts and throws away the unrecoverable ones. After a few months, they hire her as a screenwriter, but without being able to sign. Others sign in her place. Was the harsh law of apprenticeship. Thanks to this American company, Drudi learned to write all the required genres. From horror, to fantasy, to science fiction, to adventure, to war, to thriller, to espionage and detective fiction. Was a fantastic and unrepeatable "school". In 1976 she founded, together with other very young people, a free FM radio station, where she was a DJ and speaker. In 1977 Drudi produced Passagi, the first film of her future husband Claudio Fragasso, with money from wedding gifts. She works on set as an continuity editing, assistant director and second unit director. In 1986 the actor Tony Musante wanted her on the set because she had written the miniseries he was filming. Telling her that authors in America work alongside actors on set. Memorable experience that will continue in all the films she wrote. In 1986 she signed a screenplay for the first time, but under the name of Sarah Asproon, due to contractual obligations, she had to be foreign. And finally in 1988 she signed the film with her name for the first time: "After Death". In 1993 wrote first screenplay for Italy: "Skinhead" and since then haven't stopped. Drudi wrote and worked for various foreign and Italian directors before forming a team with her director husband. Drudi interviews people relevant to the story have in mind, she documents and studies everything thoroughly by doing detailed research. In 2008 published the novel "Take Me and Kill Me". Is very active on social media. Daughter Valentina works as a costume and set designer. At four months old, Valentina plays little Elisa in her father's film: "The Other Inferno".
