Craig grew up in Stepney with his younger sister Lindsey. His father Jack was a London Stevedore docker, and his mother Maureen worked as a machinist dressmaker in Petticoat Lane. He attended Eaglesfield Boys Secondary School in Woolwich. After being expelled from at 15, Craig worked as an asphalt roofer and builders laborer and later as a doorman in south-east London while pursuing acting work, before buying his first business-a sandwich bar in Woolwich Market-to support himself between roles.
Craig continues to forge a strong presence in British and international cinema, balancing powerful lead performances with long-running franchise work across film, television, and video games.
