Biography

Wouter Hendrickx is a Belgium based actor, raised in Halle (Brussels), and a graduate of Studio Herman Teirlinck, where he completed his training in 1997. He is known for his transformative performances and his ability to bring psychologically complex characters to life. He gained widespread recognition with Felix Van Groeningens The Misfortunates (De helaasheid der dingen), for which he won an Ensor Award for Best Supporting Actor. The film received international acclaim and was awarded at the Cannes Film Festival. Since then, Hendrickx has built a versatile career across film, television, short films and theatre. His credits include a cystic fibrosis patient in Oxygen (Adem) for which he received another Ensor nomination, a layered police officer in the acclaimed series Cordon directed by Tim Mielants, and a former elite athlete forced into a coaching role after an injury in season two of the prestigious series The Twelve (De Twaalf). In the international crime series Hidden Assets, he portrayed Christian De Jong, a charming yet solitary detective. His performance in the short film Pedro, directed by Aline Boyen, earned multiple nominations, a best actor award at the Brussels Shortfilm Festival and was praised for its subtle and emotionally resonant acting. Hendrickx values close collaboration with writers and directors and actively contributes to the creative process. He is fluent in English and French, with intermediate knowledge of Spanish and German. His adaptability and international profile make him a strong fit for productions both in Belgium and abroad.
