Matt's worked in film since his teens, and by age 21 was Art Directing and Designing
film and television productions in NZ. He turned to directing TV commercials in 1994
and was nominated one of the top 10 new TVC directors in the world at the Cannes
New Directors Showcase soon after. Matt honed his skillset on over 150 local and
global campaigns for high profile clients such as Visa, Lexus and Pernod Ricard; in
locations including India, Thailand, France, Italy, Buenos Aires, and the USA, and
extensively in New Zealand and Australia. In a return to his long-form roots, Matt
wrote and directed his debut feature 'Pork Pie', which became New Zealand's
highest grossing local film in 2017.
