Matt Palmieri is Co-CEO and Co-Founder of SilverPoint Studios, an independent film and television development, production, co-financing and co-marketing company based in NYC and Los Angeles. Palmieri began his entertainment career working as a senior creative and production executive for legendary studio heads Alan Ladd Jr. and Jay Kanter at MGM Studios where he participated in the development, production, acquisition, marketing and distribution of dozens of major motion pictures, most notably THELMA & LOUISE which won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and Academy Award nominations for Best Director (Ridley Scott), Best Actress (for Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis), Best Cinematography and Best Editing. After leaving MGM, Palmieri was nominated for an Academy Award and won numerous film festivals around the world for directing and producing CRUISE CONTROL starring Sean Penn and Harry Dean Stanton. Palmieri also executive produced and co-financed the Sundance Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival award winning feature film MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE directed by Sean Durkin starring Elizabeth Olsen, Hugh Dancy and Sarah Paulson, produced and fully financed the Sundance Film Festival nominated SIMON KILLER directed by Antonio Campos starring Mati Diop and Brady Corbet, executive produced the award winning feature documentary film DARFUR NOW starring George Clooney and Don Cheadle, and developed and produced the Cannes Film Festival nominated feature film THE LAST FACE directed by Sean Penn starring Javier Bardem, Charlize Theron, Jean Reno, Adèle Exarchopoulos, and Jared Harris. Prior to his filmmaking career, Palmieri was a McKinsey & Company analyst in NYC, Milan, London, and Stockholm working with various Fortune 500 companies in the media, tech and finance businesses while also researching and co-writing the New York Times bestselling technology business book "Innovation: The Attacker's Advantage", worked for and invested alongside legendary Texas financier Richard Rainwater in the private equity investment business (and afterwards for the next 25 years) while attending Harvard Business School, co-headed the Charles R. Blythe Technology Venture Capital Fund investing in dozens of highly successful Silicon Valley startups for four years while majoring in the history of 19th and 20th century intellectual thought and filmmaking at Stanford University, and attended Phillips Andover Academy where he played on the soccer, basketball and tennis teams. Palmieri is also chairman and co-founder of pre-seed startup venture Pakt.World, a vertically integrated blockchAIn business stack which turns generative AI prompt-built apps into real businesses in minutes with its integrated cloud management, business dashboard, and stable coin wallets. Growing up in Malibu and New York City, Palmieri began directing and producing short films as a kid with his brother Hank using a Kodak super 8 camera. Palmieri continues to develop, produce and finance feature films and documentaries, angel invest in AI and web3 tech startups, surf all around the world, and support NGOs THERAsurf, Médecins Sans Frontièrs and the Umodzi Patter Epicenter Project.
