Biography

Growing up in Brooklyn and raising a ruckus in elementary school with the likes of Woody Allen, Don Penny parlayed his quick mind and swift study (probably would be diagnosed as ADD today) to become the Deputy Director for White House Communications in the Administration of Gerald R. Ford. A Korean War Veteran and a 38 year member of the US Naval Reserve, his public service includes establishing the White House Communications Agency during the Johnson Administration.

Credentials as a communication consultant include theatre arts education at Pittsburgh's Carnegie Tech and London's Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. Don took his energy to Broadway, national touring companies, regional theater, and eventually Hollywood and network television. Among his TV acting credentials are roles in "That Girl", "Wackiest Ship in the Army", "Gomer Pyle USMC", as well as writing for such great programs as "The Steve Allen Show" and "The Monkees".

After service in the Ford Administration, Don worked in LA and Washington, forming his own strategic communications company. Don loves sharing his wit and comedic talents with members of the Cabinet, more than 100 members of the Senate and House, guests of the White House (including Queen Elizabeth II) and other Washington luminaries including Presidents Reagan and Bush as a speech writer and presentation consultant.

Don lives in Los Angeles and consults with friends and colleagues in business, government, the military and speaks with young people about life's journey, the challenges and finding joy along the way.
