Biography

Emma Popova was born in 1928, in Russia. She has been a permanent member of the legendary troupe of Bolshoi Drama Theatre (BDT) in St. Petersburg (Leningrad) upon personal invitation from director Georgi Tovstonogov. She worked with Tovstonogov for 30 years. During that time Emma Popova worked with an outstanding ensemble of actors at BDT.

Emma Popova was designated the title of People's Artist of Russia. She died in 2001, in St. Petersburg, Russia.
