Biography

George Ratliff is an American filmmaker and fifth-generation Texan from the high plains town of Amarillo, TX. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Ratliff made his feature film debut soon after college with "Plutonium Circus", a documentary about the lunacy surrounding the Pantex Nuclear Bomb Plant, which is the largest employer of Amarillo, TX. Plutonium Circus went on to win the Best Documentary Feature prize at South by Southwest Film Festival and received a theatrical release. Ratliff's second documentary feature, "Hell House" was also shot in Texas and tracks the lunacy surrounding the raising of an enormous Christian-themed haunted house at a megachurch outside of Dallas, TX.

Ratliff has gone on to make narrative features, including "Joshua" (with Sam Rockwell and Vera Farmiga) which debuted at the Sundance Film Festival, "Salvation Boulevard" (with Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Pierce Brosnan, Greg Kinnear and Jim Gaffigan) also debuted at the Sundance Film Festival and "Welcome Home" (with Emily Ratajkowski and Aaron Paul).
