Laura Rossi is a composer for film, TV and concert music. Her music has been described as 'hauntingly atmospheric with emotional depth and beauty' and 'truly breathtaking, on par with those of the great Hollywood composers'.
Credits include London to Brighton, Song for Marion, Redemption ITV 6-part drama, BFI Silent Shakespeare, The Cottage and Hurricane. Laura scored the Imperial War Museum Trilogy of feature length war films; Battle of the Somme, Ancre & Arras. For the Somme Centenary, one hundred orchestras worldwide performed her score to the UNESCO listed Battle of the Somme film. Watched live by over 37,000, performed by 4,200 musicians, and televised live on BBC1 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
Concert works include Voices of Remembrance for choir & orchestra, featuring poetry readings by Ralph Fiennes and Vanessa Redgrave, and Ada in Ealing with lyrics by Michael Rosen which premiered by a mass orchestra and choir of 1200 at The Royal Albert Hall in June 2025.
Laura's music has been performed by the Philharmonia, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, London Contemporary Orchestra, and BBC Concert Orchestra. Her works have been performed at the Barbican, Royal Festival Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall, London.
Laura recently composed a 2-hour ballet score Atonement based on Ian McEwan's novel, by choreographer Cathy Marston for Ballet Zurich & Joffrey Ballet, performed by Philharmonia Zurich conducted by Jonathan Lo at Zurich Opera House, and Lyric Opera Orchestra conducted by Scott Speck at Lyric Opera House, Chicago.
