Biography

A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Fanchon Royer attended school there and in Minneapolis and Chicago. She entered pictures via the "extra girl" route in 1916. She became editor of the trade magazine "Camera" before her 18th birthday and, for several years, did publicity and actors' management. She produced her first film in 1928, "Life's Like That". Over the next ten years she produced more than 30 films in English and Spanish for the independent market. She was the mother of two sons and three daughters.
