Gabrielle Scharnitzky is a multilingual German actress with East Prussian roots, born in a small Bavarian town (yes, cows and beer included). Her career kicked off with a blink-and-you'll-miss-it role in Arthur Penn's Target in the '80s, and since then, she's been busy zigzagging between German and international Film & TV.
She's shared the screen with Alan Rickman in "Mesmer" , read Oscar Isaac's palms as the mysterious Shaila in "The Nativity Story", done her own stunts as Russian patriot Petra in Amazon´s "Treadstone", and sparred with Charlie Hunnam in Apple TV's "Shantaram".
Most recently, Gabrielle played Impresario Hellen Miller in Disney+ hit series "Call My Agent Berlin. In spring 2026 she will appear as Petra Baumgart in second season of Apple TV´s "Hijack" alongside Idris Elba, and she just wrapped the Icelandic miniseries "Death of a Horse", where she stars as Heike Weiss (airing 2026).
Audiences still recognize her as the deliciously villainous Sophie von Brahmberg from Germany's "Verliebt in Berlin" (Ugly Betty), which snagged a German TV Award. Other fierce TV turns include SkyItalia´s "Devils" alongside Patrick Dempsey, "Love Addicts", and Roland Emmerich's "Those About to Die" (Peacock).
When she's not inhabiting complex women on screen, Gabrielle is a Transformation Coach, photography lover, and world traveler. She's also been advocating for women's rights for over 20 years as an ambassador for Terre des Femmes. She lives in Berlin and is represented by Zero Gravity Management, Los Angeles.
