Mohammad Ali Talebi is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, and producer whose work has been widely recognized at major international film festivals, including four selections at the Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale). His film Bag of Rice was featured in the Berlinale Retrospective curated by Tilda Swinton.
His films have received awards and been screened at festivals such as Locarno, Toronto, and San Francisco. The Boots won the Golden Gate Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival, while Willow and Wind is part of the permanent collection of the Austrian Film Museum.
Talebi’s cinema is known for its poetic realism and humanistic approach, focusing on the emotional depth of everyday life. Since 2018, he has been based in Slovakia, where he continues his international filmmaking career.
