Biography

For 2 and a half decades, Linus Tunström has been one of Sweden's most established theatre directors with intense mass media coverage for majority of his creations. Even beyond the theatre stage he has made a name for himself for his critical acclaimed TV-series "The Masterpiece", his Cannes Film Festival-awarded short film "To Be Continued", as well as his dance-theatre pieces for Cullbergbaletten and the sold-out musical "Evita".

During the past seven years as a CEO and Artistic Director at Uppsala City Theatre, Tunström has, with this multifaceted strategic and artistic leadership, not only increased the audience ratings significantly, but also developed the theatre's organisation and repertoire with an aim to become one of Sweden's leading theatre institutions, a recognition he received 2009 when Uppsala City Theatre was awarded The Swedish Theatre Critics' Award with the motivation "Sweden's most dynamic stage".
