Ira Wolfert

Novelist, war correspondent and screenwriter whose reporting from World War II's Pacific Theater earned him a 1943 Pulitzer Prize. His 1943 novel "Tucker's People" was basis for the film-noir Force of Evil (1948), whose screenplay he co-wrote as well. His 1945 book "American Guerilla in the Philippines" was basis for the 1950 film of the same title.
