Yashpal Sharma is an Indian actor known for his work in Hindi cinema, television, and theatre. Born in Hisar, Haryana, he developed an interest in acting through local Ramlila performances and graduated from the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi, in 1994. He began his career with the NSD Repertory Company before moving to Mumbai in 1997.
He gained early recognition with Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998) and rose to prominence with his role in the Academy Award-nominated film Lagaan (2001). He went on to appear in several acclaimed films across multiple languages and has built a reputation as a strong character actor with a commanding screen presence.
On television, Sharma is known for shows like Mera Naam Karegi Roshan and Neeli Chhatri Waale, along with notable web series including Your Honor and Kaalkoot. A dedicated theatre artist, he has also performed in acclaimed stage productions. In 2021, he made his directorial debut with Dada Lakhmi, which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Haryanvi.
