Özgü Namal

Ozgu Namal, one of Turkiye's most distinguished actresses, was born in Istanbul.

She graduated from the Istanbul University State Conservatory, Department of Theatre in 2002. Over the years, she has garnered acclaim and won numerous awards for her captivating performances in film, theatre, and television. Through the powerful characters she has brought to life, Ozgu Namal has become a source of inspiration for women, both in Turkiye and abroad.

Since the beginning of her acting career, Ozgu Namal has established herself as a leading actress with a strong presence in both film and television. Her film credits include standout roles in award winning titles such as Istanbul Tales (Anlat Istanbul), The International (Beynelmilel), Police (Polis), The Son of the Sun (Gunesin Oglu), and Bliss (Mutluluk); films recognized for their artistic value and critical acclaim.

On the small screen, she has captivated audiences with powerful performances in widely viewed series including Sevenhills Istanbul (Yeditepe Istanbul), Valley of the Wolves (Kurtlar Vadisi), The Dark Red (Koyu Kirmizi), Lady's Farm (Hanimin Ciftligi), Compassion (Merhamet), and most recently, the hit drama Crimson Buds (Kizil Goncalar).

In 2005, Ozgu Namal was honored with the Best Actress in a Musical Comedy by both Afife Theatre Awards and Sadri Alisik Theatre Awards for her outstanding performance in the play Rental Play (Kiralik Oyun).

In 2007, she received critical acclaim in cinema, winning the Best Actress Award at the prestigious Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for her role in Bliss (Mutluluk), and again at the Istanbul International Film Festival for her performance in The International (Beynelmilel). Furthermore, Ozgu Namal has received "Best Actress" awards at numerous prestigious international and national film festivals, including the Pune International Film Festival, Funchal International Film Festival, Oxford Film Festival, as well as the Antalya Golden Orange, Istanbul Film Festival, and Yesilcam Awards.

Notably, Ozgu Namal has served as the captivating face of several prominent national brands, including Akbank Axess and Hayat Kimya Bingo.

Ozgu Namal starred in the lead role of Yellow Envelopes (Sari Zarflar), a film directed by Oscar nominated director Ilker Catak, whose previous work includes Teachers' Room (Ogretmenler Odasi), which was shot in Berlin and Hamburg (2024).
