Born in Los Angeles, California, USA as Ian Kochinski, Vaush is an American political YouTuber and streamer, known for his progressive views and his debates with right-wing commentators aimed at deradicalizing their audience. He is of Irish and Polish descent and grew up in Beverly Hills. His father Mark is a visual effects artist and his mother Julie is a filmmaker. Vaush graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2018 in sociology from the Humboldt State University in 2018. Encouraged by the political streamer Destiny, Vaush started streaming his own content on Twitch before being banned in 2019 over his controversial political views. Following this, he moved to YouTube.
