David James Brock is a playwright, opera librettist, and screenwriter. In addition to his stage and opera writing, Brock is the author of multiple poetry collections. With Scottish Opera, Brock co-created Breath Cycle, a multi-media operatic song cycle developed with cystic fibrosis patients.

He co-wrote both the opera & screenplay for Year of the Horse (with Fucked Up's Mike Haliechuk), which was released as a double album through Tankcrimes Records in 2021.
