Ericka Smith (Gomez) is an award-winning Detroit-born screenwriter, director, producer, and lyrical poet. She is the founder and CEO of SeanVan Productions, named in honor of her late son, Sean Van Hoesen Jr., who inspired her creative journey after his passing in 2019.
A passionate storyteller and independent filmmaker, Ericka is dedicated to creating bold, authentic narratives that reflect the depth and diversity of Black experiences. Her work spans multiple genres - from drama and fantasy to faith-inspired thrillers - blending emotional truth with cinematic vision.
Through SeanVan Productions, Ericka continues to build a legacy of powerful, character-driven films that challenge perceptions and uplift voices within the community.
