Shannon Amos is a Hollywood producer turned Wellness Architect, transformational facilitator, speaker, and founder of Zuri Retreats - a luxury wellness retreat company offering immersive experiences across Tulum, Morocco, Bali, Portugal, and beyond.
The daughter of legendary actor John Amos, Shannon built a distinguished 20+ year career at the heart of Black culture in media - beginning as an intern under director Spike Lee on Mo' Better Blues and serving as Assistant Producer on MTV's groundbreaking Yo! MTV Raps. She produced music videos for Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Mac 10, and Ice Cube, and worked behind the scenes on the legendary Up in Smoke Tour featuring Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Ice Cube. She went on to produce original programming at BET Networks and oversee Academy Award-winning campaigns at Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. She later founded Afterglow Multimedia - executive producing content for Tracey Edmonds' Alright TV digital network and ultimately leading to the Comedy Central Studios series Six Guys One Car.
In 2017, following the passing of her mother Noel, Shannon embarked on a transformative "solo sabbatical" through Southeast Asia and redirected her path entirely. Today she guides women - particularly Black women and Women of Color - through the healing of generational trauma, grief, PTSD, and the grief and rage born from systemic trauma and collective loss, using ancestral wisdom, somatic practices, and holistic health modalities. She is a certified trauma-informed coach, Mindfulness Meditation Teacher, 200-Hour RYT Yoga Teacher, Reiki Master Practitioner, and Yale University-certified wellbeing expert who has studied with indigenous wisdom keepers across four continents.
Her work is anchored in the philosophies Rest is Resistance and Remembering is Revolutionary. One of the few Black women over 50 leading the global conversation on luxury wellness travel and ancestral healing, Shannon has cultivated a following of 278K+ and is a sought-after speaker, content creator, and brand partner.
