Walter Harris

Detroit native Walter Harris is an actor, writer, and producer. He began his journey in the arts unintentionally by walking into an acting class simply to mock the whole study for fun. This visit evolved into five years of training and the development of a full-fledged career. Walter became well-known in the Detroit acting scene and soon discovered his passion for improv. He spent three years at The Second City-Detroit, where he was a member of the Touring Company and an understudy for Keegan-Michael Key and Antoine McKay.

Walter landed numerous regional commercials and roles in local films, including "Silent Scream," "Corrupted Minds," "17000 Block," and "Layla's Girl." He was also a co-host and main cast member on the local WB network sketch show "SwitchPlayTV." Encouraged by his Second City overstudy, he made the decision to move to Los Angeles.

Now a seasoned Actor/Writer/Producer, Walter has a list of internet shorts and stage shows. He is a founding member of the award-winning Sketch Comedy Troupe Frog Island Flicks, who created and hosted the 2010 Hollywood Comedy Festival.

His film credits include the Lionsgate spoof "Disaster Movie" (2008), where he played the Hancock look-alike; "C'mon Man" (2012) starring Tony Rock; "Life's An Itch" (2012) with TV host Rossi Moreale; and "A Toast to Green Lantern" (2011).

Walter is the co-founder of 8Wood Entertainment with his long-time friend and fellow Detroit native, J. Writer Ward. They continue to expand their writing, directing, and producing resume with various projects, including the film short "Happy Birthday; The Short Film Thriller," and the award-winning film short "Persuasive."
