James Marshall Case was born in Nebraska, the home state of his ancestors. He never lived there because his father, an Air Force Colonel, and his mother, a Registered Nurse, were stationed all over the U.S. His father finished his career at the Pentagon in Northern Virginia where James graduated from Thomas Jefferson HS as President of his Senior Class.
James's scholar-athlete career continued from high school and concluded at Davidson College and Duke University. Athletic competition had become his life-force. He both played and coached at National Championship levels until his professional baseball aspirations ended with back and shoulder injuries. He then competed in basketball as a point guard for a Top Twenty-Five team at Davidson College - (the home of Steph Curry).
His acting career began surreptitiously at a very early age on the stage as 'Peter Pan' and at the mic singing "While Strolling Through the Park" for a talent competition.
After his life in athletics, private entrepreneurship and raising a family, James's later acting career resumed as "Starbuck" in "The Rainmaker" followed by "Man " in Edward Albee's "Play About the Baby.'
James received a 'Best Actor' nomination in Charlotte, NC, for his role as "Man." After receiving this nomination and now an 'empty-nester' James ....
... came to Hollywood to continue his pursuit of the craft of acting.
For personal reasons he returned to North Carolina but has now returned and is here to stay.
