Brandon Oakes

Brandon A. Oakes is an U.S./Canadian actor; Kanienkehaka (Mohawk) from Akwesasne, which straddles the U.S./Canadian border. He started his career as a dancer. He has performed and toured extensively throughout North America with several Indigenous and non-Indigenous dance companies. Oakes is most noted for his role in the film Through Black Spruce (2018), for which he received a Canadian Screen Award (CSA) nomination for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role. Also nominated for a CSA for Best Supporting Actor, Drama, for the TV series Diggstown (2019) in 2020.
