Biography

Tina Yu is a casting director specializing in global talent acquisition and cross-border film production coordination. Her expertise includes sourcing actors from Europe, Latin America, North America, the Middle East, East Asia, and South Asia; establishing bilingual production teams; and managing international artist compliance, financial, and legal processes.

Her career began in 2017 with the historical epic The Eight Hundred, where she coordinated foreign actors and provided on-set translation. She subsequently worked on multiple cross-border productions as a production translator and talent coordinator.

Transitioning fully to casting around 2019, Yu expanded her portfolio to include web films and short films while building international casting frameworks for theatrical releases. Since late 2020, her casting direction has contributed to projects accumulating over 10 billion RMB at the box office. Notable credits include:
