Biography

Sarah Scott is an American actress, intimacy coordinator, and producer whose work spans television, film, and stage. With over 50 screen credits and a reputation for nuanced, transformative storytelling-on both sides of the camera-Scott has cultivated a multi-hyphenate career that continues to evolve with the industry.

Originally from Texas, Scott earned a B.S. in Culture & Communications from NYU and trained in classical theatre at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She began her career in New York City's downtown theater scene before transitioning to screen work in Los Angeles, where she gained early recognition in the commercial and dance world, including the iconic iPod silhouette campaign. She went on to guest star on acclaimed television series such as True Blood, CSI: NY, Castle, Bones, Masters of Sex, and The Orville.

Scott's breakout film role came with her haunting portrayal of Courtney Love in the controversial docudrama Soaked in Bleach-a performance that garnered critical attention and contributed to the film becoming one of IMDb's top documentaries of 2015. She also appeared in the Academy Award-winning silent film The Artist and has led multiple indie features including Desperate Waters, for which she received three Best Actress awards on the festival circuit.

In 2019, Scott became a certified intimacy coordinator through the Intimacy Professionals Association and has since emerged as one of the field's most sought-after practitioners. Her recent credits include Hacks (HBO), Winning Time (HBO), 1923 (Paramount+), Rebel Moon (Netflix), You People (Netflix), and the upcoming The Madison. Her on-set experience as an actor deeply informs her approach to intimacy choreography, bringing both artistic vision and trauma-informed practice to the work.

A committed advocate for consent and safety in entertainment, Scott serves as Co-Vice Chair of SAG-AFTRA's Los Angeles Sexual Harassment Prevention Committee and is an ambassador for Voices in Action. She is also an active educator and public speaker, regularly teaching workshops and contributing to industry panels and documentaries, including the Tribeca-premiered Body Parts.

Now stepping into writing, developing, and producing, Scott continues to expand her creative footprint with a deep belief in the power of story and a clear-eyed vision for a more equitable industry.
