Dwight Turner is an award-winning actor, as well as a producer, casting director, and director, with a career spanning film, television, commercials, voice-over, theatre, and print. A professional performer since 1992, he is known for his range and on-screen presence. He is credited as a Newscaster in the blockbuster Bad Boys: Ride or Die, appearing across multiple scenes, and has appeared in series including Chicago Fire, Terror Lake Drive, Fatal Attraction, Murder Comes to Town, Betrayed, and 1000 Ways to Die. His leading role in the independent short The Contradictory Couple earned Best Short at Louisville's International Festival of Film, and Out-Sorcery premiered at Comic-Con after receiving a nomination for excellence in genre performance. He has also played leading roles in independent features including The Deported (opposite Nicholas Turturro, Talia Shire, and Kathrine Narducci), Anything But Christmas, and Gradation, all available on streaming platforms.
Turner's casting work began with projects including the feature film Queen of the Ring and television series Into the Wild Frontier and Relative Justice. He later founded Turner Casting, where he has shaped the casts of projects including the documentary REP, and commercials for Buffalo Trace, the University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union, and a regional Super Bowl spot, demonstrating a keen eye for talent across formats.
As CEO of Movie Town Productions, Turner serves as Executive Producer and Director of the documentary REP, which explores the lives of freshman state representatives. He also worked as a Content Programmer for Warner Bros. Online, overseeing productions from development through completion. Turner is a former member of the SAG-AFTRA Nashville Board, where he advocated for performers and supported the region's creative community. He has also served as a judge and festival coordinator for Louisville's International Festival of Film.
