Dimitri Sassone was born in Rome. A registered journalist in Rome and Lazio since 2004, he graduated with honors in 2005 from DAMS (University of Music and Performing Arts) in film criticism and semiotics. He began his career in film as an actor, appearing in TV commercials, films, and TV series, collaborating with Carlo Verdone, Carlo Vanzina, Gabriele Muccino, Giulio Base, and others.
He subsequently worked as an author, director, and executive producer. With Ohana Film & Music, he produced several short films and the documentary "Il Tipografo," directed by Stefano Pasetto. Since 2018, he has collaborated with 102 Distribution and has also begun to move into distribution.
He has gradually specialized in production, serving as executive producer, general organizer, and production manager. Specifically, he served as executive producer of the Italian/Mexico co-production "Red Shoes," presented at Venice 1979 in the Orizzonti Extra section. In recent years, he has also worked as general organizer on the films "Non ci resta che ridere" by Alessandro Paci, "Next!" by Giulietta Revel, "C’è di nuovo la valigia sul letto" by Eduardo Tartaglia, "L’età giusta" by Alessio Di Cosimo, "Cercando Itaca" by Sergio Basso, "Amici Comuni" by Marco Castaldi, "La Gran Familia" by Matias Meyer Rojas (international co-production Mexico-Italy-France), and the documentaries "Barber Ring", "Come un padre", "Sapere è potere", "Leonardo Maugeri. L'uomo del futuro" and "Niente di Speciale" by Alessio Di Cosimo, as well as "Il Viaggio di Carta" by Sergio Basso, as production manager on "Daniel Pennac: ho visto Maradona" by Ximo Solano (a docu-film in Italian-Spanish co-production shown at the Rome Film Fest in 2022), "Buon Compleanno Massimo!" by Marco Spagnoli (prime time TV docu-film on Rai3).
In 2023, he produced Stefano Pasetto's documentary "Il tipografo" for Ohana Film, which won Best Feature Film at the Visioni dal mondo festival.
He also handles public funding for production and distribution at Euroimages-Media, Mic Dgca, and various regional Film Commissions.
