Malan Breton has been called "The Most Influential Designer You've Never Heard Of" by British VOGUE. "The Internets Favourite Designer" Yahoo News, "The Master of Elegance" by numerous publications. Originating from Taipei, Taiwan he is known as a fashion designer, TV and film costumer, director, actor, dancer, model, musician, screenwriter, columnist, artist, influencer, and composer. Breton has been honored with more than 100 awards internationally, most notably for his work in fashion, costume, and film. Breton was trained, in fashion, by Savile Row tailors, and a Couturier. Malan Breton was the first fashion design house to design for prime-time TV (game show format), in America, for NBC/Universal Minute to Win It (2010). Malan Breton collections have been featured on Australia's Next Top Model (2005), Project Runway (2004), America's Next Top Model (2003), Rob & Romesh Vs (2019), The Real Housewives of New York City (2008), 2011 MTV Video Music Awards (2011), the designers own show on Bravo/NBC Universal called The Malan Show (2008), and special feature episodes of the The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (2010) where Malan Breton's New York Fashion Week shows, were a featured story line of the show. Malan Breton has created specialty stage costumes featured on The 73rd Annual Tony Awards (2019), American Music Awards 2017 (2017), The Voice UK (2012), The Biggest Night in Theatre: The Olivier Awards (2017), WWE Monday Night RAW (1993), Quantico (2015), RuPaul's Drag Race (2009), and many others. The designer has appeared as a fashion commentator for MTV News (1989), E! News (1991), Today (1952), Fox 5 Morning News (1985), and "OK! Magazine" where the designers column "Malan's Musings" ran online from 2010 to 2015. In 2021 Malan Breton partnered with GOOGLE to participate in the "GOOGLE Cameos" program, creating video features about fashion showcased on the GOOGLE search engine for the general public. Malan Breton, the designer, has also served as a fashion mentor to the Smithsonian Museum, and Cooper Hewitt Museum. Malan Breton the designer has also presented awards to The Winchester School of Art fashion program, and has lectured at FIT, Princeton University, Pratt, Parsons University, Shih Chien University, and other universities around the world. Malan Breton Collections have been featured in the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Museum at FIT, MOMA, and been worn by celebrities from film, TV, music, and royalty. In 2019 Malan Breton was one of a very select few international designers invited to present to the British Working Royal Family. In France, Breton is also a top ten charting pop singer. As a dancer Breton has appeared in music videos like Amy Grant: Takes a Little Time (1997) , Puff Daddy: It's All About the Benjamins, Version 2 (1997), and danced with artists like Patricia Kaas, Paula Abdul, Ann Reinking, and others. Breton appears as himself in the iconic comedy film Zoolander (2001), at the time of filming he was a male model having appeared in campaigns for many European brands, and magazines including Arena Homme +, L'uomo Vogue, Paper Magazine, and others . Malan Breton has also been the voice of ESPN, ABC Sports, Sothebys, Banana Republic, etc. and his fashions have appeared in campaigns for Huawei, Constantine Vacheron, and others. Malan Breton, is also an award winning film director winning the 2024 Vanguard Award from NYC International Fashion Film Festival, 2021 London Fashion Film Festival award for best 2d/ 3d Animated fashion film Immortal (2020) (SS2021 Collection), and the NYIFF award for the biopic Malan Breton a Journey to Taiwan (2015) . Malan Breton, the designer was the recipient of the 2022 British Designer of the Year by SAL, the 2017 Taiwan Government Honour for fashion, the 2016 FGI Rising Star Award in Menswear, the 2015 Taiwan Government honour for film and fashion, was approached to participate in the LVMH prize competition in 2015, and was also nominated for the 2011 WGSN Global Fashion Award for "Outstanding Collaboration" With NBC/ Universal costume design for Minute to Win It (2010) starring Guy Fieri. Malan Breton is also the only fashion designer to design for gaming, most notably his designs are featured in Minute to Win It (2011), WWE 2K20 (2019). Malan Breton devotes much of his efforts to education, and philanthropy, he has also served as a government appointed Ambassador to the arts in Taiwan, and the United Kingdom.
