Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is an Indian actor and producer predominantly working in Telugu films. He is the owner of Advitha Creative Studios, a VFX company. They have provided special effects in movies like
Legend (2014),
Nannaku Prematho (2016), and
Krishnashtami (2016).
Ram is the son of the late politician and actor
Nandamuri Harikrishna. He is also the grandson of politician and producer
N.T. Rama Rao. His half-brother is the reputed actor
N.T. Rama Rao Jr..
Ram attended St. Paul's in Hyderabad and KCP Siddhartha Adarsh Residential School, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, India, for his schooling. He earned his engineering degree from Coimbatore and his master's at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, Illinois, The United States of America.
Ram debuted in 1989 with the film
Bala Gopaludu (1989) alongside his uncle
Nandamuri Balakrishna.
After setting up his production company, he produced
Athanokkade (2005), which was the directorial debut film of
Surender Reddy.
He also acted in a series of films, including
Abhimanyu (2003),
Asadhyudu (2006),
Vijaya Dasami (2007),
Lakshmi Kalyanam (2007),
Hare Ram (2008),
Jayeebhava (2009), and
Kalyan Ram Kathi (2010).
In 2013, he produced and starred in
Om 3D (2013). In 2015, he also produced the film
Kick 2 (2015), starring
Ravi Teja in the lead role. Ram also acted in the movie
Sher (2015) alongside
Sonal Chauhan.
In 2016, he produced and starred in the film
Ism (2016) as the undercover journalist Satya Marthand. The next year, he appeared in the first season of the reality show
Bigg Boss Telugu (2017).
In 2019, he played his father on the silver screen in the film
NTR Kathanayakudu (2019) and
NTR: Mahanayakudu (2019). In 2020, he acted in
Entha Manchivaadavuraa (2020), an official remake of the Gujarati film
Oxygen (2018).
He also produced and acted as the main character in the Telugu fantasy action film
Bimbisara (2022).
