Brian Ward was born in Hickory, North Carolina. An
"Army brat," Ward moved several times throughout his childhood to
states including Tennessee, back to North Carolina and Virginia before
finally moving to attend college at Appalachian State University in
Boone, North Carolina from 1995-99.
Despite a decent span as a child actor, throughout the majority of his
youth, Ward always anticipated a career as a comic book artist.
In college, Ward was reacquainted with his old childhood friend Frank
Mohler and it was a friendship that would eventually turn into a long
working relationship.
Their partnership has paid off, earning Ward several award nominations
for his work as a DVD/Blu-ray producer and a win for Home Media
Magazine's 2009 "Best TV Animation DVD" award for the "Transformers:
The Complete Series - Matrix of Leadership Edition."
When he's not at work producing DVDs, however, Ward still writes and
directs his own short films, including several for the Los Angeles 48
Hour Film Project, and has completed work on two feature-length
screenplays for his own production company, Slushpile Entertainment.
