Biography

Shannon Mary Dixon is an award-winning actor and decorated athlete whose love for storytelling began on the ice as an elite figure skater with Olympic ambitions. Transitioning from competitive athletics to the stage and screen, she's brought her unique blend of physicality and emotional depth to leading and supporting roles on ABC, CBS, NBC, Lifetime, and the digital platform BlackBox TV, as well as a wide array of acclaimed independent films. Her work has screened globally, including at the Hollywood Reel Independent, London Fashion Film Festival, and Milano International Film Festival.

Her projects have earned accolades such as Best Picture, Best Acting, and Best in Show. On stage, Shannon was recently nominated for Outstanding Lead Performer by the Desert Theatre League for her powerful portrayal in Edward Albee's The Death of Bessie Smith, and received critical acclaim for playing 11 characters in a sold-out run of Spoon River Anthology. Most recently, she starred in POTUS at Coachella Valley Repertory Theatre, with reviews praising her performance as "played to perfection" and "artfully delivered."

Her love for roles that merge movement and meaning shines in projects like the upcoming dramatic motorcycle action film Through the Corners, and the historical western The Outlaws of Mendocino County. A skilled motorcycle rider, precision stunt driver, horseback rider, and figure skater, Shannon brings fierce authenticity to physically demanding roles-including an appearance on NBC's The Office. She is also a certified yoga instructor (RYT) and currently training in martial arts.

Shannon trained at Ireland's prestigious Gaiety School of Acting-whose alumni include Colin Farrell and Olivia Wilde-and graduated magna cum laude with degrees in Film, Theatre, and Design from Northeastern University. She is a proud graduate of the Upright Citizens Brigade's advanced improv program and has performed widely on indie improv teams.

Off camera, Shannon has worked as a production designer and was accepted into the MFA program in Production Design at the American Film Institute Conservatory. In 2018, she directed and produced her first short film, Down the Road, a WWII-era story set in 1944 Paris. She is currently developing multiple original stories, including a post-apocalyptic western and a magical fairy tale-driven by a deep belief in story, the presence of magic, and film as a powerful medium for keeping wonder alive.

When not on set or stage, Shannon enjoys adventuring with her family, traveling (25 countries and counting!), studying French, savoring great meals, and of course-getting lost in good stories.
