Nichole Ruiz

NICHOLE RUIZ is a Director of Photography based in Los Angeles, CA. Born and raised in the Philippines, Nichole received her undergraduate degree from The University of the Philippines Diliman. In 2016, she studied at the New York Film Academy where she received her Filmmaking certificate. Since then, Nichole has shot feature films, short films, music videos, documentaries, and web-series. Nichole's most recent feature, "TAHANAN (HOME)", was awarded the grand prize for best feature film at the Culver City Film Festival in 2022. Another project she shot is "FOR THE LOVE OF DOGS", a comedy web-series directed by Jess Rona, featuring Jake Johnson and Taylor Schilling. She is also a cinematography fellow for the 2023 Inaugural Women In Film Fellowship Program. She is one of the founders of Howling Gale Entertainment (HGE), a Filipino-owned production company based in LA with a mission of promoting diverse perspectives within the entertainment industry. She is passionate about how the visual medium and responsible storytelling can impact society.
