Biography

Rob Danson is an LA based film composer who has composed music to films starring top actors such as Michael Rosenbaum (Smallville), and Beverly D'Angelo (National Lampoon's Vacation). Having studied recording and composition at Berkley College of Music in Boston, and the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, Danson brings forth an array of musical knowledge and moods ranging in styles from full orchestral (inspired by John Williams) thriller / horror (inspired by Rob Zombie) to indie rock (inspired by the film Juno).

Danson has composed films in various genres including: Horror, Comedy, Family, Fantasy, and Documentary. Danson received the 2011 Newport Beach Film Festival's "Most Outstanding Achievement Award" for his film Ghild (which he co-created and scored). In addition, his films have received "Official Selection Status" in the Palm Springs Film Festival, LA Shorts Film Festival, New York International Children's Film Festival, and the Heartland Film Festival.

Danson will soon compose for Michael Rosenbaum's directorial debut comedy Old Days.

In addition to film scoring, Danson fronts the Silverlake-based indie-rock / Americana band "Death to Anders."
