Biography

Markiss McFadden is an award-winning filmmaker, actor, and director known for his dynamic storytelling and ability to bring powerful narratives to life. He was born in Los Angeles, California, USA. At age twelve, he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, with his mother, Linda K. Jackson, and his younger sister, Markela D. McFadden. During his high school years, McFadden joined the theater program at Cimarron-Memorial High School, where he discovered his passion for performance and storytelling. After graduation, he returned to California to pursue an acting career.

A graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), McFadden has produced and directed over sixteen projects, including six short films, eight feature-length films, and two TV pilots for Netflix. His work spans multiple genres, with a strong focus on socially impactful stories that resonate with audiences.

McFadden's films have garnered critical acclaim and industry recognition. His feature film Suffering in Silence earned him The Johnny Brenden Filmmakers Award, securing a $25,000 grant to support its development. His live-action/animated feature The Marlin Cowboy captivated audiences, demonstrating his unique ability to blend visual artistry with compelling character-driven storytelling.

His previous projects have found success on the festival circuit and in distribution, further establishing him as a force in independent cinema. With his production company, McFadden Family Films, he remains dedicated to crafting meaningful, thought-provoking stories that push creative boundaries and leave a lasting impact.

He is known for Littlerock (2010), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011), Love Triangle (2013), Executor (2017) and Seal of Desire (2022).

McFadden has been married to Desiree Marie McFadden since June 14, 2015. They have two children together.
