Hussain Dalal

Hussain Dalal is an Indian writer, dialogue writer and actor. He made his acting debut on the small screen in the TV series Bring on the Night (2012) and his big screen debut in the movie the Greater Elephant (2012).

Dalal's next work as an actor in Pizza (2012), a horror film directed by Karthik Subbaraj starring Vijay Sethupathi. He also acted in Margarita with a Straw (2014), directed by Shonali Bose and Nilesh Maniyar, starring Kalki Koechlin.

Dalal has acted in various movies and series like A Gentleman (2017), Hichki (2022), Shameless (2018), Mere Pyare Prime Minister (2018), Judgementall Hai Kya (2019), Jawaani Jaaneman (2020), Toofaan (2021) and Call My Agent Bollywood (2021).

Dalal's first project as a dialogue writer was in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapoor. He also wrote the dialogues for the movie 2 States (2014), starring Arjun Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.

In 2014, he won the Film Producers Guild Award for Best Dialogue Writing for his work on this Bollywood romantic drama. For his role in the short film Shameless, he was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (2018).

Dalal has written dialogues for Sanam Re (2016), Dishoom (2016), Karwaan (2018), Fanney Khan (2018), Kalank (2019), Saaho (2019), Jawaani Jaaneman (2020), Call My Agent Bollywood (2021), Brahmastra Part One: Shiva (2022) and Shehzada (2023).

Dalal has also worked as a writer for Mere Pyare Prime Minister (2018), Dhindora (2021) and Shehzada (2023).

Dalal has also made appearances in many commercials, like the Head and Shoulders shampoo commercial with Ranveer Singh, a Nescafe commercial, Vodafone's Diwali campaign, and Airtel's ads.

Dala married Zeeba in December 2022.
