Gianinni Semedo Moreira is an Afro-European writer and director from The Netherlands, based in Los Angeles. His work spans sci-fi, thriller, and action, blending bold cinematic vision with a dynamic, movement-driven style shaped by his background as a world-touring dancer and choreographer.
His directorial debut short, The Border, won the Grand Jury Prize at the Collaboration Filmmakers Challenge in 2021, leading to two development deals with Shout! Studios. Since then, his projects have screened at festivals including the Burbank International Film Festival and the Micheaux Film Festival.
Before filmmaking, Gianinni performed and choreographed with artists like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and Paula Abdul, and toured globally with Cirque du Soleil, later directing concert films and tour visuals for major acts.
In 2025, Gianinni releasing Outlands, a dystopian sci-fi series produced with no budget yet executed with full cinematic ambition, and is developing Chronos (2026), a grounded sci-fi fantasy feature to be filmed in Greece. His goal is to bring bold, globally resonant stories to audiences at studio scale.
