Biography

Dylan Townsend, an award winning Filmmaker & Actor from Dublin, Ireland who initially began writing & producing his own projects in Ireland- after a decade of photography, journalism and completing film school.

Dylan started his cinematic journey directing comedy shorts 'Ignorance Is Bliss' and comedy web series 'Slainte', which led to his being invited to join RTE's Docu-series 'Exiles: Vancouver'.

While on the show in Vancouver, Dylan was observed creating the comedy web-series 'Hipsterverse' bringing comedy genius Aisha Tyler onto the project as a guest director. As show runner he pitched and sold the TV series- which was distributed under Dish network/ Roku & Sonifi across North America in 2017.

Now in LA, in 2019 he produced 'Bad Suns' a film starring Kevin Ryan and Timothy Murphy, which won Dylan 5 best film awards as producer, among the films 28 global festival awards. Dylan also negotiated a distribution agreement with US based Sci-fi network 'Dust channel' and screened the film in LA and Dublin with Q & A's with icons- Shane Black & Jim Sheridan.

After Bad Suns and during the pandemic, Dylan shot Two spiritual satire comedy pilots - 'Wewoke'- directed by award winning filmmaker Kirsten Sheridan, and 'Intentional', where he directed talent including Alexis Knapp, Johann Urb & Jackie Bennetin in a pilot about a hippy cult commune, based on a historical swingers compound in Topanga, California.

Recently Dylan has expanded his talents by Writing, Directing and starring as co-lead in a 10 part half hour comedy series- Under The Influence- shot in Vancouver with talent including Shiobhan Williams and Max Lloyd Jones.
