Sotiris Tsafoulias is a Greek film, television and theatre director and screenwriter. Originally trained in shipping management and maritime law, he turned to cinema as a self-taught filmmaker, drawing early inspiration from popular American films. He made his feature debut with
Common Denominator (2014), which screened internationally and received multiple awards, while its screenplay was later adapted for the stage in Paris (2017). He gained wider recognition with
The Other Me (2016), which won audience and jury prizes at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, and later expanded into a successful television franchise (
The Other Me (2019)) with successive series released between 2019 and 2023. Alongside his screen work, he has maintained an active theatre career, directing acclaimed productions from 2022 onwards. His recent projects include the television adaptation of
17 klostes (2023) and the crime series
Rififi (2025).
