Biography

PJ & Duncan are a British pop-rap duo from Newcastle upon Tyne, England. They formed in 1993, as a result of the popular British children's TV drama series, "Byker Grove", in which their two characters were involved in a music-based storyline. When the two actors left the series, they retained their characters' names and subsequently launched a successful pop career, beginning in December 1993 with their debut single, "Tonight I'm Free".

Following the release of their first two singles, they rebranded themselves as "PJ & Duncan AKA", whilst the release of their third album in 1996 saw the duo attempt to reinvent themselves by releasing music for the first time using their real names of "Ant & Dec".

Between 1993 and 1997, the pair released eleven singles, three EP's, and three studio albums. They briefly reformed in 2002 with the football-themed single, "We're on the Ball", to coincide with the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Their most famous track is the BRIT Award-nominated, "Let's Get Ready to Rhumble", which was a UK Top 10 hit in July, 1994.
