Jera Wang is a producer with experience in feature, episodic, commercial, and narrative short film work across China, the U.S., India, and Mexico. She is passionate about bringing unique and individual stories to a wider audience. Her recent feature film "Under the Burning Sun", themed with female body right, has won the audience award at Slamdance International Film Festival. Her narrative short films have screened at festivals such as Tribeca, BIFAN, Palm Springs, and First Xining Film Fest. Her documentary series work "Why We Dance" has been hosted by online platforms such as Tubi, Amazon Prime Video and Bilibili.
Jera is the co-founder of her company, Narval Films, an Asian based independent film production company based in San Gabriel Vally, Los Angeles. Within and beyond their productions, Narval has continually promote and produce independent projects in support of experiences and arts from voices that have not been heard.
In 2019, Jera was selected as an influential entrepreneur under 30 by the LA Post. She is a Film independent Project Involve fellow and Women In Film Producer fellow.
