Amrita Bagchi is a Mumbai-based multidisciplinary artist working across film, design, and performance. A graduate of the National Institute of Design, she began as a visual artist before moving into theatre and screen acting. Her screen credits include Stories by Rabindranath Tagore, Music Teacher, Hasmukh, City of Dreams, and lead roles in Shoebox (2021) and Roojh (2023). Her directorial debut short Succulent (2022) premiered at Palm Springs ShortFest and received awards at international festivals. Her second short Tinctoria (2025), created under the Apple × MAMI programme and mentored by filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane, reflects on indigo's colonial legacy. She has also written for Poacher, Extrapolations, and Do aur Do Pyaar, and is developing her first feature film.
