Actor, dancer, choreographer, and filmmaker Asli Melisa Uzun was born and raised in Ankara in a Turkish-German family, growing up bilingually and within two cultures. She began ballet at the age of three and appeared on stage for the first time at four. She graduated from Ankara German High School with an International Baccalaureate Programme diploma.
From 2014 to 2016, Uzun studied Law at the University of Cologne on a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). During this period, she decided to pursue a career in the performing arts and dance. In 2016, she began studying Contemporary Dance at the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory, graduating with honors in 2020. Parallel to her studies, she trained in acting at institutions including the Istanbul State Theatre and Craft Acting Studio.
Uzun made her professional acting debut with a leading role in the television series ArkadaĹlar İyidir (2016), directed by Zeynep GĂźnay Tan and Deniz KoloĹ. Since 2018, she has appeared in several projects in both Turkey and Germany. Her first project in Germany was the series Verbotene Liebe - Next Generation (2020), a remake of the cult German television series Verbotene Liebe, in which she portrayed the character Bobbie. She took on a leading role in the television drama Akrep (2021), portraying Duru, the granddaughter of Perihan (played by Demet AkbaÄ).
Uzun starred as one of the lead characters in the third season of the ZDF series Blutige Anfänger (2022), portraying Aylin Aksu, a young police academy student, and reprised the role as a guest in 2024. She also appeared in the German remake of the short TV film series Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction, presented by the internationally recognized actor and host Jonathan Frakes. In 2025-2026, she appeared in the series Rßya Gibi, portraying Zahide Melek, a businesswoman involved in money laundering.
Graduating on scholarship from the Film and Television Masterâs Program at Istanbul Bilgi University in 2026, Uzun has developed her own filmmaking projects, including the short film Ters AkÄąntÄą, written and directed by her, which is in post-production. She also continues to work as a contemporary dancer and choreographer, performing in and creating productions for stage and screen in both Turkey and Germany.
