Aparna Balamurali is an Indian actress who primarily works in the Malayalam film industry. She completed her schooling at the Devamatha CMI Public School in Thrissur. She then went on to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the Global Institute of Architecture located in Palakkad, Kerala.
Balamurali made her acting debut with the film Yathra Thudarunnu in 2013. Another Malayalam film
Oru Second Class Yathra (2015), was released in 2015, where she played the lead role of Latha. She gained immense recognition for her performance as Jimsy in the Malayalam film
Maheshinte Prathikaaram (2016), directed by
Dileesh Pothan. Her next film was
Oru Muthassi Gadha (2016), directed by
Jude Anthany Joseph. In 2017, she appeared in the film
Sunday Holiday (2017), directed by
Jis Joy. And her next film was
Thrissivaperoor Kliptham (2017), where she played the role of Girija, who runs a bar in the small town of Thrissivaperoor- her performance was well-received by the audience and critics alike. In the following year, she was cast by
Rajiv Menon in
Sarvam Thaala Mayam (2018).
She was also cast by
B. Unnikrishnan in
Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel (2019). And in 2020, Balamurali played the lead role in the Tamil film
Soorarai Pottru (2020), directed by
Sudha Kongara. She played the role of Bommi, a strong-willed and supportive wife who helps her husband, played by Suriya, to realize his dream of starting a low-cost airline.
