Biography

Kelly O'Malley is a Los Angeles-based actress, writer, and producer from Frisco, Texas. She graduated from Southern Methodist University with a double major in Film & Media Arts and Religious Studies and later completed a continuing education course in Nonprofit Management. After graduating, Kelly moved to Los Angeles to study acting at the Stella Adler Academy of Acting & Theatre, where she remains an active alum.

As an actress, Kelly's recent works include the short films Valentine's Day (dir. Tina Carbone) and Woman Reclining on Grass (dir. Claudia Doumit), in which she starred opposite Pete Gardner (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend). She was also recently seen on stage in the world premiere of Tim McNeil's 'Blanche in the Asylum'.

In 2016, Kelly founded A Light in Dark Places (ALIDP) to bring awareness to the often-avoided topic of suicide. After losing her father to suicide, she was driven to break the stigma surrounding mental health and provide hope for others. She serves as ALIDP's Executive Director and the Artistic Director of its Plays for Hope series. Her advocacy and creative work have earned her recognition, including the John T. O'Malley Humanitarian Award from TopAchievers, and she has contributed op-eds to the Dallas Morning News.
